Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
The Lock Desk Analyst is responsible for executing and managing daily lock functions, change requests, and reconciliations to support accurate and timely loan delivery. This role demands a high level of organization, process discipline, and comfort with numbers. It is a remote position requiring alignment with Mountain or Pacific Time Zone hours.
- Lock new loans and process lock extensions in a timely manner.
- Process Change of Circumstance (COC) requests including rate and loan amount changes.
- Send daily lock desk update emails to stakeholders.
- Perform daily and quarterly reconciliations, including investor/brokered loan data pulls.
- Generate and deliver audit reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage lock expiration timelines using Arive and Excel.
- Use Excel to create pivot tables for reporting and data analysis.
- Support compliance and accuracy by ensuring pricing, lock, and change details are aligned across systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams (LOs, processors, secondary desk, etc.) to resolve discrepancies and communicate status updates.
- Multitask across multiple systems and priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; must be confident working with data.
- Ability to use Excel tools like pivot tables and VLOOKUP for sorting, filtering, and reconciling loan data.
- Exceptionally organized and process-oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-first attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
- Must be able to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):
- Experience working in capital markets or a lock desk function.
- Background in mortgage lending or secondary markets.
- Exposure to brokered loan pipelines and investor reporting.
- Prior experience with reconciliations, reporting, or audit preparation is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with loan origination systems, especially Arive, is a plus.
